There are only a few restaurants left that are traditional Saratoga. Wishing Well has remained a staple of premier Saratoga Dining for decades. Service and food are always impeccable and the atmosphere during the office season is very warm and cozy. I suggest always having a reservation because it does always have a steady flow of diners even in the winter months
Beautiful place in every way. Rustic atmosphere with horse racing decor. Great piano bar entrance and private room as well. Staff is amazing and attentive. The food was superb, filet, salmon and the sides. Forgot to take pics at this private banquet for our sailing club. But all was outstanding, including the rich chocolate flowerless cake.
It is such a lovely place. We went during the night before Christmas Eve. All the staff are very courteous and professional. The food were phenomenal and service is paced perfectly. Didn’t feel too rushed or too slow. We really enjoyed our night at The Wishing Well.
This was our first time having dinner at the Wishing Well. It was our anniversary so we wanted an upscale restaurant. We were not disappointed. We started with the pate - a generous portion and it was excellent with all of the accoutrements. For dinner my husband got the braised short ribs served over polenta The short ribs melted in your mouth, and were so tasty. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon au poivre. It was served over mashed potatoes and asparagus. Again, the meat melted in your mouth. cooked perfectly medium rare. At about 5:30 a man began playing the piano and singing, setting the mood. We will be back for a special occasion!
We had a wonderful first time experience here. We were celebrating my partners birthday and from the moment we got there, we felt welcomed, appreciated, and cared for. Before we ordered, the owner brought us out some blue cheese and buffalo oysters. He also included some champagne to complement them. He took note of my love for oysters when we arrived. So we instantly knew this was a one of a kind place. I ordered 12 more oysters and the scallops. My partner ordered the short ribs. The food was phenomenal and they were accommodating to my dairy allergy too. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be returning and will spread the word. We really like it is a hidden gem with a unique menu. The lighting has a romantic vibe and the service is quick and efficient. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Wonderful place, great staff that were very accommodating. Def a way out there but well worth it. Was a wonderful dinner and very elegant night out. I know we are from a few hours away but we will def stop by again if in Lake George area. My wife has been wanting to try Wishing Well... And it was a great dinner. Highly recommend. You will def have a great meal.
Absolutely awesome! This place is very very pricy so we only make it here once a year, but it is worth it every single time! The food is cooked by expert chefs and they always have different specials. We had lamb lollipop appetizers with French onion soup, which was delish. Then we had prime rib, NY Strip, Ribeye and Haddock for our dinners. Everything came out perfectly cooked and seasoned as usual. It is a dimly lit atmosphere with a solo piano player for entertainment. We finished the meal with strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake, also very good. No complaints at all, can't wait to go back!
